About the Author

John Canemaker is an Academy Award-winning filmmaker and author. He has written and directed over 50 films, including The Moon and the Son: An Imagined Conversation (2005),which won an Oscar for Best Animated Short Film. He is also the author of several books on animation, including Before the Animation Begins: The Art and Lives of Disney Inspirational Sketch Artists (2017) and The Art of Miyazaki's Spirited Away (2002).
