Roughhouse Friday: A Memoir by Jaed Coffin - A Raw and Unflinching Examination of Life, Loss, and the Unwavering Bonds of Family
From the opening pages of Jaed Coffin's memoir, Roughhouse Friday, you'll be drawn into a world that is at once familiar and utterly foreign. Coffin's writing is raw, honest, and unflinching as he recounts his upbringing in a dysfunctional family, his struggles with addiction, and the profound loss he has endured.
But Roughhouse Friday is more than a story of pain and sorrow. It is also a testament to the power of love, resilience, and the unbreakable bonds of family. Coffin writes with a deep understanding of the human condition, and his words will stay with you long after you've finished the book.

Coffin grew up in a small town in Maine, the son of a lobsterman and a nurse. His father was a violent alcoholic, and his mother was often absent, struggling with her own demons. Coffin and his siblings were left to fend for themselves, and they often had to rely on the kindness of neighbors and friends.
As Coffin grew older, he turned to drugs and alcohol to escape the pain of his childhood. He became addicted to heroin, and his life spiraled out of control. He lost his job, his home, and his family. But even at his lowest point, Coffin never gave up hope. He eventually found the strength to get sober, and he has been clean for over a decade.
Roughhouse Friday is a powerful and moving memoir that will stay with you long after you've finished it. Coffin's writing is raw, honest, and unflinching, but it is also filled with hope and redemption. Roughhouse Friday is a must-read for anyone who has ever struggled with addiction, loss, or the challenges of life.
