In 1994, Keane left Disney to join Pixar Animation Studios, where he worked on Toy Story, A Bug's Life, and Monsters, Inc. In 2008, Keane returned to Disney, where he directed the Oscar-nominated film Tangled.

Throughout his career, Keane has been praised for his ability to create characters that are both emotionally resonant and visually stunning. His work has been recognized with numerous awards, including an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature Film for Tangled.
