Synopsis
Shackleton Stowaway is a gripping historical fiction novel that tells the story of Violet "Peggy" Dean, a young woman who disguises herself as a man and stows away on Sir Ernest Shackleton's legendary Endurance expedition to Antarctica.
Peggy is a skilled seamstress and artist, but she yearns for more than the life that society has laid out for her. When she hears about Shackleton's expedition, she sees it as her chance to break free from the confines of her gender and experience the adventure of a lifetime.
Peggy disguises herself as a man named Harry and joins the crew of the Endurance. She quickly proves herself to be a valuable member of the team, working alongside the other men in the harsh conditions of the Antarctic.
But when the Endurance becomes trapped in pack ice and is eventually crushed, Peggy's true identity is revealed. She is the only woman on the expedition, and she must now face the challenges of survival alongside her male companions.
Peggy's story is one of courage, determination, and resilience. She proves that women are just as capable as men of enduring hardship and overcoming adversity.
