About the Author
Robin Olds was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, in 1922. He graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1943. He flew more than 200 combat missions in World War II and the Vietnam War, and shot down 16 enemy aircraft. He also commanded the 8th Tactical Fighter Wing in Vietnam. After retiring from the military, Olds worked as a civilian flight instructor and air show pilot. He died in 2007.
